i have a 3010 with just over 100 hrs on it...had the 50 hr checkup done at dealer, and tractor runs fine as far as I can tell....question is: temp gauge goes almost all the way into the red within an hr of usage, mostly just brushhogging grass less than a foot tall....all the fluids are within specs and radiator screen is cleaned before each use....just curious how far needle should be into the red before i should be concerned...the most i ever use the tractor is about 5-6 hrs at a time, usually my wife will mow back part of property while i trim the fence lines and such, then it will sit until next day and then i will finish mowing the rest of property.
Any suggestions to keep the machine cooler, or is there a way to be sure the gauge isn't defetive?

I do not know your tractor, but I wouldn't think it should go into the red at all. In all machinery I have had/used the red zone is a no no.
They might normally hit the red zone for a short time immediately after shutting them off, but should not be in there while operating.

Somethings not right, these things are designed for a warm climate. I have used mine in the tropics for MANY hours of heavy work at a time, the temp. gauges barely move from normal.
Check the temperature with a thermometer in the rad, don't open it under pressure, loosen it BEFORE you start then measure the temp. after it shows hot on the gauge.
Probably just a bad sensor, wire or gauge, but better to check it out just in case.
Best of luck. ....

You need to either look at this machine or get it looked at. These machines do not run hot or in the red unless there is restriction or something low or poor wiring sensor or guage. Dealer or mechanic should be able to help you out.
Try a temp lazer gun to check where your operating temp is . I have found that some Kubota's are very fragile when overheating on a regular basis. Please get some attention to this engine ASAP
Good Luck ....

I would stop at an hour and see how dirty the screen is in front of the radiator. Then look to find out is there is any other things that might be bad. ....
